22,000 Acer laptops have been recalled by Acer and the CPSC because of a wiring defect. The computers can short circuit, melt the casing, and theoretically burn users. The affected computers are the following models, manufactured between June and October 2009. Call Acer at (866) 695-2237 to find out whether your individual machine is affected. Make sure you have the serial number for your laptop handy!

| Snownet is proud to announce the donation of a Nintendo Wii entertainment system to the Adult Day Program (The Sunshine Club) at the Four Counties Hospital site in Newbury, Ontario. The Nintendo Wii, along with a selection of games as well as staff training and setup of the system were donated. We would like to thank Four Counties Health Services for the opportunity to help the community seniors stay active. The Nintendo Wii is a great way for seniors to get exercise and range-of-motion stretches, and a good way to give access to things like bowling and tennis that otherwise there would be no room for. | |
